SafeSide’s Module I training course is designed to offer beginning and newly developing shooters an opportunity to improve their shooting skills and become more comfortable with their firearms. Beginning shooters will learn and intermediate shooters will review/learn the basic fundamentals of pistol shooting in a classroom setting and reinforce those fundamentals in a live fire session in one of our ranges. All SafeSide training courses begin with the 4 basic rules of shooting safety and reinforce those rules throughout the classroom and range sessions.

• Treat every firearm as if it were loaded
• Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until ready to shoot
• Always point the firearm in the safest direction possible
• Be aware of your target and what is beyond it

The basis for proper shooting is a good grip on the firearm. The Phase I module starts off with descriptions of proper and improper grips for semi-automatic firearms and revolvers. The Phase I module then focuses on the five basic fundamentals of pistol shootin:

• Aiming (Sight Picture / Sight Alignment)
• Hold Control
• Breath Control
• Trigger Control
• Follow through (trigger reset)

The Module I session closes the classroom portion with discussions and examples of good shooting stances/positions. After the initial classroom session, the training continues in the range where live fire exercises reinforce the classroom instruction. Under the watchful eye of our skilled instructors, the shooters will receive immediate feedback on their shooting forms as well as recommendations on how to continue their training and strengthen all areas of their shooting skills. Shooters will utilize their own firearm or may choose from over 100 SafeSide rental firearms at a reduced cost. Shooters should bring a minimum of 100 rounds of ammo along with eye and ear protection. Eye and ear protection is available from SafeSide and ammo may be purchased from SafeSide.
