DCJS 01E SECURITY OFFICER ENTRY (LYH)
Security Officer Core Subjects (01E) 18 Hours - Lynchburg Location
If an officer wishes to become and armed security officer, classes 05E (Arrest Authority), 075E (Handgun) will also have to be taken. If applicable, 08E (Shotgun) will also be needed.
Orientation will include:
- Applicable sections of the Code of Virginia and Regulations Relating to Private Security Services
- Code of Ethics
- General Duties and Responsibilities
The officer will learn about the criminal and administrative laws of Virginia that pertain to unarmed private security officers. The student will master the art of documenting effective and comprehensive reports to include but not limited to incidents, larcenies, vehicle accidents, lost and found and daily log sheets. Much time and effort will be placed on handling emergency procedures, confrontation management and use of force. There will be a mandatory written comprehensive examination at the conclusion of the class.
This is a 2-day course. Please note the site will only show the hours of the first day. You will be required to attend the course the following day as well in order to complete the course.
