The Carrier is Nitride Super Smooth Finish /Bolt Head is 9310 Nitride Coated
These are the same that are going into the guns our troops are using, with one enhancement, the nitride finish. Nitride finish creates a longer lasting bolt group; even when the finish wears, the nitride keeps working to stop corrosion and increase lubricity.
So, what is Nitride Finish?
Metal components treated with Nitride finishes have increased wear-resistance, fatigue strength, corrosion resistance and cosmetic appeal. Nitride replaces the processes of hard chrome or nickel plating. Black nitride gives better corrosion protection. (Command)
